Kathmandu : Throat swab samples have been collected for PCR testing of 33 people who came in contact with corona-infected Birgunj Metropolitan cleaners.
Contact tracing has been started on the basis of travel history after a Covid-19 infection was confirmed in a cleaner of Birgunj Metropolitan City-3 on Sunday.
According to the District Public Health Office, Parsa, a sample of throat swabs of 33 people including family members who were in direct contact was collected in the first phase.
Public Health Inspector Jaymod Thakur informed that a sample of throat swab was collected from 7 members of the infected family and 33 people including the people’s representative of the ward. He said that the work of contact tracing is being continued on Monday as well. He said that the people who came in direct contact with the infected people of Birgunj-16 have been identified.
In Parsa, three infected people, including one from Sarlahi, are currently in isolation at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj. There are 321 people including 119 women in home quarantine and 114 people including 10 women in different quarantines of the district.
According to the District Administration office, Parsa, 121 homeless Indians, including four women, have been kept at the Thakur Ram Multipurpose Campus.
