Kathmandu : Irfan Khan, the Indian born actor who found fame in Hollywood as well as Bollywood, has died aged 53. The actor had recently been admitted to the intensive care unit of Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital with colon infection.
In 2018 he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour.
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar took to Twitter to express his condolences and grief over passing of Irfan Khan.
Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Khan’s demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre.
“Irrfan Kha’s demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace,” PM Modi tweeted.
Khan’s mother Saida Begum also passed away recently. Due to the lockdown, Irfan was not able to attend his mother’s last visit. He paid tribute to his mother through a video call.
