
Kathmandu : Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has died at age 67 after a two year long battle with cancer. The 67 year old actor was taken to H N Reliance hospital by his family on Wednesday morning.
The news was confirmed by close family friend and veteran star Amitabh Bachchan, who took to social media to share his grief.
“He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !,” he tweeted.
Akshay Kumar also paid tribute to his Namastey London co-star and said, “It seems like we’re in the midst of a nightmare…just heard the depressing news of Rishi Kapoor ji passing away, it’s heartbreaking. He was a legend, a great co-star and a good friend of the family. My thoughts and prayers with his family.
Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi also tweeted about his death: “This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the passing of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. A wonderful actor, with a huge fan following across generations, he will be greatly missed.”
His death comes a day after the passing away of Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan. Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and returned to India last September after a year long treatment in New York.
