Kathmandu : Four more people died mysteriously on Tuesday and Wednesday, while two more died in Bhangha municipality of Mahottari today.
The deceased have been identified as Sikendra Singh, 42, and Sitai Mahara, 55, of Meghnath Gorhanna in Ward No. 7, said Mayor Sanjiv Kumar Sah. Among the dead on Tuesday and Wednesday were locals Mohan Chaudhary, 40, Nathuni Chamar, 52, Lalbabu Singh, 54, and Gangaram, 52.
The death toll rose to six today, Chief Sah confirmed. Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Budhathoki from the District Police Office, Mahottari said that two more critically ill people were taken to the District Hospital, Jaleshwor for treatment.
Although the police seized a large quantity of liquor and raw materials stored for making liquor from the village in three days, they are not admitting that their death was due to alcohol consumptions.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Budathoki said that the exact reason would come out only after the medical examination of the two injured and the autopsy of the deceased.
