Kathmandu : Three persons who were in quarantine in Mahottari have absconded. Three persons escaped from the quarantine at Ramananda Bisheshwor Mahendra Campus in Bakhari of Jaleshwor Municipality Ward No. 1 of Mahottari on Wednesday morning.
They were kept in quarantine on Monday and absconded at 5:30 am on Wednesday, said Health Officer Sanjay Kumar Sharma. He said that they escaped from the quarantine, which has been under the surveillance of two security personnel and the municipal police for 24 hours.
Strict surveillance has been intensified on the remaining 18 after three persons escaped from the quarantine. There were 21 people in the quarantine till Tuesday, including the fugitives.
The search for the absconders is in full swing, said Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari.
