
Kathmandu : The lockdown in Pakistan has been extended for another three weeks. The government has announced that the lockdown period has been extended till May 31. But some loose arrangements have also been made to facilitate trade and business.
According to a statement issued by the government, the lockdown has been relaxed for places where there is not much crowd of the public. According to the information, the emergency service shops will be allowed to open five days a week from 8 am to 5 pm.
Government officials say the lockdown has to be continued as the number of coronavirus infections and deaths in Pakistan continues to rise.
According to him, more than 29,000 people have been infected across the country so far and 1,991 new patients have been added in the last 24 hours alone.
The health ministry said 21 people had died in the past 24 hours. The death toll in Pakistan has risen to 639 so far. Of those who fell ill with the coronavirus, 8,023 have recovered, officials said.
