Kathmandu : The Geelong County Administration of Tibet has provided food and health supplies worth Rs 23.8 million to Rasuwa District.
Chief District Officer Arjun Bhandari said that food and health items were provided to the District Disaster Management Committee Rasuwa by Geelong County of Tibet on Sunday.
A team of officials, including Geelong County administration counterparts, handed over food and health supplies to Miteri Bridge, said Bhandari. The food aid received includes 1,100 bags of 25 kg rice, 1,100 bags of 25 kg flour and 378 boxes of 10 liters of cooking oil.
Among the health items received for the prevention and control of coronavirus are 1,100 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE), 130,000 sets of disposable medical masks, 1,500 sets of N95 masks and 110 sets of infrared thermometers.
A team of security officials including Chief District Officer Bhandari had reached Rasuwagadhi checkpoint on Sunday to collect relief items. The Geelong County administration has twice before handed over health supplies to the District Disaster Management Committee Rasuwa on different dates.
Meanwhile, food items received from the Geelong County administration were handed over to all the five villages in the district on Sunday, said Prajia Bhandari.
Each village municipality has been handed over 210 bags of rice, 220 bags of flour and 65 boxes of 10 liters of cooking oil. Chief District Officer Arjun Bhandari said that the health items will be used in security personnel, hospitals, health posts, health desks, quarantine and isolation as per the need.
