Nepal Army Brings 14 Tons of Medical Supplies From China

Kathmandu : The Nepal Army has brought 14 tons of medical supplies from China through a Nepal Airlines flight. According to Nepal Army spokesperson Bijnandev Pandey, this is the second time the army has brought 14 tonnes of medical supplies by air.

Earlier, the army had brought 18.9 tons of medical supplies by air in the first phase. According to spokesperson Pandey, 28,000 PCR kits, PPL and other health items have been brought. The ship had left for Guangzhou, China on Wednesday to collect medical supplies.

Though the Nepal Army said in a press conference on Wednesday that it would bring 28 tons of health supplies to the second batch, only 14 tons of supplies have arrived. As there are 30 portable X-ray machines, it is not possible to bring as many items by air now, said Pandey.

According to him, the remaining goods will now be brought to Nepal through the Tatopani customs checkpoint. Earlier, an army container had brought 9 tons of medical supplies to Kathmandu by land.
