Kathmandu : The government has closed about 251 schools in South Korea after new cases of Covid-19 were found. A few days ago, a school for children was opened here after the number of corona infections decreased.
According to Laura Wicker, a correspondent in Seoul, 56 new Corona infections have been found in the last 24 hours. The new COVID-19 cases, including 55 local infections, raised the total caseload to 11,402, according to Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).
Friday’s newly identified cases marks a slowdown from the nearly two month high of 79 the previous day but still put renewed strain on the country’s virus response capability.
All the new cases were reported in greater Seoul areas. Most of the infected were found at a distribution center in Buchanan, West of Seoul. As Buchanan is densely populated area, the authorities are concerned.
So far, at least 90 cases have been traced to the center since the first patient was confirmed last week, according to the KCDC and local governments.
