Kathmandu : Three children drowned in the Thulivheri River in Dolpa district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Yashodha Bhadari, 12, Ganga Kathayat, 10/11, and Vijay Kathayat, 10, of Motipur in Thulivheri Municipality-9, Dolpa, said Assistant Chief District Officer Laxmidevi Sharma.
They had gone to graze cattle and crossed the Bheri River at Thulivheri Municipality-9, Motipur.
Yashoda and Vijay were resuced about two kilometers away from the spot and rushed to the district hospital. But the hospital pronounced them dead. The body of Ganga Kathayat was found by the police at Tripurakot Bagar in Tripura Sundari Municipality-1, five kilometers away from the spot.
