Corona infection confirmed in a woman from UAE

Kathmandu : A woman who came to Nepal from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been confirmed to be infected with corona virus (Covid-19).

A total of 157 Nepalis in trouble in the UAE arrived in Nepal on Friday (Jestha 23) on Air Arabia’s G-Nine 1751 charter flight. A 26 year old woman in the same team was diagnosed with corona infection, said Dr. Samir Adhikari, Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population.

She was placed in Kharipati quarantine on the first day. On the second day, on Jestha 24, she was shifted to Mulpani Quarantine. From there, samples were collected for testing using PCR method and the report was positive, the official said. She has been sent to the isolation of Patan Hospital on Friday.

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division said it would conduct contact testing of other passengers on the charter flight with her.
