Kathmandu : In the last 24 hours, nine more people have been infected with Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Karnali.
A laboratory test conducted at the Surkhet-based Provincial Hospital and Veterinary Disease Research Center confirmed the corona in nine people in Friday.
Among those added are six from Surkhet, two from Dailekh and one from Jajarkot, said Dr. Laxminarayan Tiwari, Chief of Health Services Division at the Ministry of Social Development. At the same time, the number of infected people in Karnali has reached 1,233.
According to Dr Tiwari, six of the newly infected people, including a woman from wards 1, 2, 6, 8 and 11 of Bheriganga Municipality in Surkhet. There are two men from Ward No.2 of Bhairavi Village Municipality of Dailekh and one man from Chhedagad Municipality-4 of Jajarkot.
One has been discharged from Mehelkuna Hospital, Surkhet and two from Kalikot District Hospital on Friday. At the same time, the number of people discharged in Karnali has reached 508.
Four people have died in Karnali due to corona.
