Kathmandu : An inmate of Birgunj Prison has died. The deceased has been identified as Basir Ahmed, 63, of Birgunj. He was remanded in custody for trial four and a half months ago in a fraud case.
He was admitted to the National Medical College 16 days ago due to diabetes and high blood pressure.
Chief of Birgunj Shravan Pokharel informed that the hospital declared him dead at around 2 am on Thursday. His body has been taken Narayani Hospital for postmortem.
