
Kathmandu : Police have arrested two persons absconding in a banking case.
According to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Patan, who was convicted by the Patan High Court for banking offenses, was arrested from various places in Kathmandu. Sunita Chitrakar of Tamsipakha, Kathmandu was arrested on Thursday and Manoj Lal Singh Dulal of Kalanki, Kathmandu was arrested today.
The Patan High Court had sentenced the Chitrakar to three days imprisonment and fine of Rs 6 lakh 50 thousand on Falgun 18. The fugitive Chitrakar has been arrested from the local Swayambhu. Similarly, Suwal, who was absconding after being sentenced to seven days imprisonment and fined Rs 10 lakh by the Patan High Court on Magh 10, was arrested from the local Ravi Bhavana, the bureau said.
The court had ruled that they had deliberately deceived public by claiming that they did not have sufficient balance in their account an had committed a criminal offense of cutting bank cheques on different dates.
