Accused absconding in kidnapping case arrested after 9 years

Kathmandu : Police have arrested a fugitive accused in a kidnapping and hostage taking case after nine years.

Banhu Sahani, 38, a resident of Paterwas Sugauli Village Municipality-4 of Parsa has been arrested. Accused Sahani was arrested from Birgunj-16 INRWA at 3 pm on Tuesday, said Manojit Kunwar, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Parsa.

According to the police, the district court had sentenced Sahani to nine years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 on Mangsir 16, 2068 in a kidnapping and hostage case.

According to the police, he was also involved in a case related to 50 kg and 500 grams of cannabis.
