Kathmandu : Police have arrested three persons involved in the theft of scooters and motorcycles in Pokhara.
According to District Police Office Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Subash Hamal, the identities of the arrested have been kept secret. They were arrested while stealing a scooter in Phulbari at around 1 am on Wednesday.
Police said that two more stolen scooters were also recovered during the investigation.
Police had found Gyan Kumari Gurung’s red Dio scooter (Ga 6 Pa 6342) stolen from the compound of Sukmaya Kami’s house at Ganeshtol in Pokhara-4 on Shrawan 25. Similarly, a red Dio scooter (Ga 17 Pa 3051) belonging to Dhanmaya Gurung and a blue Dio sccoter (Ga 5 Pa 3915) belonging to Sirjana Mall Thakuri stolen from Pokhara-11 Pragati Tol at 12:30 pm were recovered from Phokhara-4 Budhi Bazaar said Police spokesperson Hamal.
Police team from District Police Office and Subordinate Area Police Office, Sisuwa had launched a search operation on the basis of information that motorcycles and scooters were stolen from Pokhara Valley and surrounding areas at different times and places.
Police said that five stolen mobile sets were found from the arrested persons. The district court on Wednesday extended their remand for five days on charges of theft and robbery, police said.
