Kathmandu : The government has decided to provide relief of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those killed in floods, landslides and natural calamities.
In case of death of several members of the same family, an additional assistance of Rs 1 lakh will be provided for other members out of the Rs 2 lakh.
Announcing the decision of the cabinet on Thursday, Finance and Communications Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada, who is also the spokesperson of the government, said that relief would be provided at the rate of Rs 20,000 to the families who are facing financial problems.
Similarly, the government has decided to bear the entire medical expenses of the injured. The government has decided to provide Rs 1 lakh per family for the construction of a new house if the entire house is destroyed by the landslide.
