Kathmandu : A team of the Metropolitan Crime Branch of the police has arrested two persons with 6 kg of opium.
Dilip Bishwakarma, 22, of Jajarkot and Pramila Raut, 18, of Bhimeshwor Municipality-6 have been arrested from Tarkeshwor Lolang Height in Kathmandu.
Chief of the Division, SSP Deepak Thapa, said that the seized opium was bought from Jajarkot at the rate of Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand per kg. According to SSP Thapa, the police had received information that opium was being brought to Kathmandu and sold at the rate of Rs 8 lakh per kg.
According to Thapa, they were arrested near the Sheshmati Small Bridge in Tarkeshwor Municipality, Kathmandu District, carrying opium in a black bag for sale. It has been revealed that the arrested BK had taken Raut with him to avoid any suspicion in the business.
Police said that further investigation is underway on both the arrested persons.
