Kathmandu : A young woman and a girl drowned in a ditch at different places of Barhathwa Municipality in Sarlahi district on Thursday.
Poonam Mahato, 19, of Sitapur in Barahathawa Municipality-10 has drowned in frozen water in a ditch, according to police. Poonam, who had been staying at her grandmother’s house at Murtiya in Barhathwa Municipality-9, left the house on Thursday morning without telling anyone.
While searching for her, police said that she was found drowned in a frozen ditch near her house. According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the deceased Poonam was already suffering from epilepsy.
A girl has also drowned in frozen water in a ditch in Ward No. 3 of Barhathwa Municipality. Poonam Mahato, 3, of Pathalaiya Chowk in Barhathwa Municipality-3 has drowned in a ditch on Thursday morning. The girl was found drowned in a ditch, police said quoting the family.
