Kathmandu : Police have arrested nine members of a group for brutally beating Komal Ghimire, a traffic police constable on duty in Lalitpur’s Pulchowk.
According to SSP Tech Prasad Rai of Lalitpur Metropolitan Police, nine persons have been arrested for vandalizing a motorcycle (Ba 2 Pa 7242) in which Ghimire was riding.
Among the arrested are Mahesh Bajracharya, 40 of Lalitpur, Prith Bindu Maharjan, 39, Shyam Shrestha, 32, of Bhaktapur, Yadav Lal Kayastha, 47, of Kathmandu, Ashok Kumar Maharjan, 38, of Lalitpur, Ravi Shakya, 36, Suvin Shakya, 43, Dhruvaraj Bajracharya and Rabin Shakya, 40.
Constable Ghimire has been injured in the beating of a group gathered to pull Matsyendranath’s chariot. He is undergoing treatment at Alka Hospital, said SSP Bhim Prasad Dhakal of the Metropolitan Traffic Division.
