Kathmandu : Two persons were killed in a jeep accident at Deulikhola of Rishing Gaonpalika-1 in Tanahu district on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Hom Bahahdur Shrestha, 32, of Myagde Municipality-8 and Raj Kumar Shrestha of Beas Municipality-5, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.
The driver of the jeep, Hom Bahadur, died on the spot while Raj Kumar succumbed to his injuries at Damauli Hospital, said Yuvraj Timjlsena, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Tanahun. According to him, four of the other six injured in the jeep are undergoing treatment at Pokhara and two at Damauli Hospital.
According to the District Police Office, Tanahu, the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 7128) heading towards Khalde of Rishing Village Municipality from Chapaghat in Vyasnagar Municipality-5 fell into the river about 70 meters below the unpaved road.
