Worker died in Dolakha when a crane rope broke

Kathmandu : A worker has died today when a rope of a crane broke at Suri Hydrapower under construction in Dolakha.

Mahesh KC, 31, of Kavrepalanchok in Panauti Municipality-6 has died when the rope of a crane broke in a hydropower plant under construction in Gaurishankar Gaonpalika-5 Gurumfi of the district.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Inspector Resham Bohara said, “KC died when the rope of the crane broke and fell down the slope along with the box of the crane while he was going to work from the crane inside the Hydro Power building.”

According to the District Police Office, Dolakha, the worker died on the spot after sustaining head and body injuries. Further investigation is underway and the body is being brought to the district headquarters Charikot for autopsy.
