Kathmandu : Police have arrested two persons from Chitwan on the charge of being involved in smuggling illicit drugs. Among the arrested are Dorje Tamang, 25, and Padam Bahadur Moktan, 24, of Rapti Municipality-11.
Police had seized one quintal of cannabis from Dawadi Chowk in Rapti Municipality on Bhadra 21 while it was packed in five bags. Police arrested the two from Rapti Municipality-5, Bhandarachowk on Thursday after finding them involved in smuggling cannabis.
According to Chitwan spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Thapa, Baburam Thing, 30 of Rapti-12 is absconding. According to the police, the two have been remanded in custody by the Chitwan District Court.
