Kathmandu : Three people have drowned in rivers and ponds in Rupandehi and Kapilvastu districts. Two people have drowned in pond in Kapilvastu and one child has drowned in a river in Rupandehi.
According to Khadka Bahadur Khatri, Police Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, 10 year old Nishcal Tiwari of Deepanagar of Butwal Sub Metropolis-8 drowned in a river at Butwal-7 while swimming. He was studying in class 4 at Kalika Anthropology High School in Butwal when he went missing from Butwal on Friday.
Similarly, Ashok Kumar Pathak, 32, and Karamahansa Pathak, 26, died while picking lotus flowers at Matkhanwa Pond in Kapilvastu’s Maharajgunj Municipality Ward No. 5.
According to Dharmaraj Bhandari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Kapilvastu, they drowned in a pond on Saturday morning.
