Kathmandu : District Police Office, Jhapa has arrested a fugitive accused in a banking case.
According to Bhagwati Dhungel’s complaint, the High Court in Biratnagar has sentenced Rajendra Prasad Prasai to one month imprisonment and a fine of Rs 9 million. He was convicted by the court in the first case on Poush 14 last year and in the second case on Poush 21 of the same year.
A team of the District Police Office, Jhapa arrested Prasai from Kankai Municipality-3 of Jhapa on Tuesday on the basis of special information.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rakesh Thapa, who is also the Information Office and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Jhapa, said that he would be produced in the court only after the court reopens.
