Kathmandu : Separate patrol teams of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police in Rautahat have recovered various types of illegal Indian goods worth more than Rs 1 million.
A special patrol team targeting Dashain Diwali and the upcoming Chhath festival has recovered clothes, groceries, cosmetics and readymade items from the bordering Indian market.
A team led by DSP Naresh Bhandari of the Armed Police Headquarters Rautahat No. 11 and Chief Inspector Bishnu Adhikari of the Armed Base Camp Dewahi recovered illegal items worth Rs 790,000 from Dewahi, Gonahi, Mahadevpati and other places, said SP Surya Sen Oli.
Similarly, teams of District Police Office Gaur, Area Police Office Garuda and some police outposts recovered various Indian goods worth Rs 325,000 from Mahadevpati, Gadhimai and other places, said Rautahat Police Chief SP Siddhi Bikram Shah.
The seized goods have been handed over to the District Customs Office, Gaur today for necessary action.
