Accused of killing his own colleague absconding arrested after 23 years

Kathmandu : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Mankaji Shrestha alias Dhruv of Ramechhap Pakarwas, who had absconded after killing his own colleague.

Shyam Khadka of Panauti in Kavre was killed by Mankaji in Jayabageshwari of Kathmandu in Kartik 2054 BS.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson Bel Bahadur Pandey said that Mankaji was arrested from Lalitpur after 23 years. It has been learned from the police investigation that 18 year old Shyam was killed by three persons including Mankaji near Nirmarneshwar Temple in Jayabageshwari.

Mankaji had been hiding in various places in Kathmandu and Lalitpur for 23 years after he killed his colleague during a dispute over alcohol during the festival. He was arrested by the police team while he was making a living by running a hotel in Thasikhel, Lalitpur.
