Kathmandu : Ramesh Tamang of Bageshwori, Nuwakot, has been jailed for 12 years for stealing cash and jewelry from a woman who was walking along the road.
Tamang, 31, of Bageshwori in Suryagadhi Gaonpalika-3, who was absconding after being found guitty by the court, was arrested by the Nuwakot Police and handed over to the court for execution of the verdict.
Tamang was convicted by the Nuwakot District Court of stealing Rs. 100,000 in cash and Rs. 500,000 worth of jewelry from Nirmala Rai of Likhu Gaonpalika-3, Suryamati.
According to the district court’s verdict on Falgun-03, 2073, Tamang was convicted in a case of ‘robbery’ and sentenced to 12 years and two months in jail and a fine of Rs 122,160.
He was arrested by the Nuwakot police from Kathmandu on the basis of special information and handed over to the Nuwakot District Court on Monday for execution of the verdict.
