Kathmandu : The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has taken action against eight companies operation against the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS.
During the daily market monitoring conducted by the department, they were found to be involved in black marketing.
Among the companies to be under the action of the department are Budhathoki Hardware at Tokha 5, Kathmandu, New Shiva Food Store at Ka.Ma.Na.Pa-9, Madan Das Enterprises at Ka.Ma.Na.Pa 8, Suryaachandra Enterprises at Ka.Ma.Na.Pa-32, Needs Mart Pvt. Ltd and Sofia Store at Lalitpur-14 and Nakhipot Mini Mart at Lalitpur Metropolitan-9.
The department has collected a total of Rs 121,000 through these companies. The department has informed that the companies have been taken action as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS during the market monitoring on Tuesday.
