According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, two motorcycles collided head on with each other at Bhatandevi Mandir turning on Hetauda Sub Metropolitan Ward No. 10 on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sagun Rumba, 17, of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan Ward No. 10, said Jayeshwar Rimal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Makwanpur.
The motorcycle (Na 49 Pa 6223) heading towards Karra from Buddha Chowk in Hetauda and the motorcycle (Na 41 Pa 6436) coming from the opposite direction had collided with each other.
Rumba, who was injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment at the old medical college in Chitwan, said Rimal.
Three others have been injured in the accident. The injured have been indentified as Vigyan Rumba, Vijal Lama and Bikram Lama, police said. Bijal and Bikram, who were injured in the accident, are undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital under the supervision of the police.
Police have estimated that the accident took place when the two speeding motorcycles collided with each other. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
