Kathmandu : Two persons have died when a water tank burst in Talkot Gaonpalika-1 of Bajhang district. The deceased have been identified as Gokul Kunwar, 52, and Sundari Devi Kunwar, 48.
A tank built under the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Modernization Project exploded while collection water on Monday, police said. According to Rupak Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Bajhang, Sundari Devi died while undergoing treatment at Amisha Hospital, Chainpur.
Under the project, water was brought to the village by lifting from Setin River. The water tank was repaired a week ago after the water started leaking. Local Gopal Kunwar said that the tank exploded when they were trying to collect water in the repaired tank.
Relatives have alleged that Sundari Kunwar died due to negligence of Amisha Hospital. Sundari’s leg was injured. Gopal Kunwar, the husband of the deceased, alleged that his wife died due to negligence on the part of the doctor.
Dr Mahesh Shah, who works at the hospital, said that he went out after giving needles and sline to the patient and came to the center for the care of the patient. He said that the patient died later.
The relatives of the patient have demanded action against the doctor.
