Kathmandu : The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to stop the Bisket Jatra to be celebrated in Bhaktapur.
A single bench of Justice Purushottam Bhandari issued the interim order during the preliminary hearing. The Bhaktapur Municipality has decided to hold the jatra on Wednesday following the health standards.
A team comprising MP Prem Suwal and municipal people’s representatives had called on the Chief District Officer to rectify the decision.
The meeting has decided to conduct Bhairavnath’s chariot pulling, lingo raising and shielding jatra in a civilized and peaceful manner by adopting health standards keeping in mind the risk of Covid-19.
