Kathmandu : According to the Department of Drug Management, 26 indigenous industrialists have taken permission to open sanitizer industries across the country since Bhaishak last year.
Twenty-six companies, including the state owned Nepal Aushadhi Limited, have taken permission to produce sanitizer.
Santosh KC, information officer of the department, said that many of them are producing sanitizers and sending them to the market.
According to KC, production in Nepal has also increased and imports have also increased after the department set quality standards for sanitizers.
“We are now regulating domestic and foreign sanitizer, and new industries are still emerging,” said KC, an information officer.
The department has also banned the use of products of 26 domestic and foreign companies on the charge of producing low quality sanitizers and sending them to the market.
