Non-essential services closed in Gaindakot

Kathmandu : Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat-Susta) has stopped all services except emergency.

The municipality has stated that all the services except the essential ones have been suspended from today until further notice due to the prohibition issued by the local administration in the district.

Gaindakot Municipality Chief Chhatra Raj Poudel has urged the locals not to hold crowds, gatherings, ceremonies and gatherings in the municipality.

“The local administration has issued a prohibition to prevent further damage from the spread of the corona virus with the new variant,” Poudel said.

“We have decided to shut down all services except essential services from Gaindakot Municipality during the prohibition. Stating that the most infected among the locals of the district are in Gaindakot municipality, he urged the cityy dwellers to abide by the prohibition.

According to the Health Office, Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat-Susta), the number of active infected people in the district has reached 414.

Health Office Chief Keshav Prasad Chapagain said that there were 146 active infected people in Gaindakot Municipality alone.

Similarly, 108 are active in Kawasoti, 50 in Binai Triveni, 34/34 in Madhyabindu and Devachuli, 22 in Hupsekot, two in Baudikali and one in Bulingtar, said Chapagain.

Stating that 79 people have been infected with corona in the last 24 hours in the district, Chapagain said that 10 people have recovered from the infection on Tuesday.

According to Chapagain, four infected people lost their lives in the district after the second wave of corona spread. He urged the local levels to set up more isolation centers in the district to control the rapidly spreading corona infection.
