NEB postponed SEE and class 12 examination

Kathmandu : The National Examination Board (NEB) has postponed the SEE and Class 12 examinations. The board meeting held on Monday morning has decided to postpone the SEE examination to be conducted from Jestha 12 and the class 12 examination to be conducted from Jestha 26.

Chairman of the board Chandra Mani Poudel informed that both the examinations have been postponed till further notice.

“The government has also told us not to take the exam. Corona infection is on the rise. It is out of control. The exam is not being conducted. It has been postponed for the time being. We will issue another notice when the exam is held,” he said. The printing of question papers for the SEE, which will start on Jestha 13, has been completed.

5 lakh 17 thousand students are preparing for SEE. Board members said that the examination could not be conducted in 2,019 examination centers across the country as the situation was out of control. The class 12 examination to be held from Jestha 26 is also in doubt. With months to go before the exams, but due to the epidemic, most of the districts are under prohibition.

About 4 lakh candidates are in class 12. Arrangement has been made to send question papers online for class 12 this year. Last year, the examination was conducted at the home based examination center by sending question papers online during the corona epidemic.

This year, it is preparing to take exam by sending question papers only to certain examination centers that have access to internet facility. Last year too, due to the corona epidemic, the board had given the results to the SEE candidates on the basis of the internal evaluation done by the school.

Similarly, the board meeting has also formed a five member task force to study how to conduct SEE and class 12 examinations. A task force has been formed under the coordination of Director General of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development Baikuntha Aryal.

The board has stated that a task force has been formed to decide the modalities of proceeding in the presence of corona infection while conducting the examination in Physical presence.
