Kathmandu : All the services and transportation except the most urgent ones will be closed in Panchthar district with effect from 12 noon on Bhaisak 27. The district based Covid-19 Risk Management Committee (DCCMC) has decided to shut down all services exvept for emergency for one week.
Earlier, a meeting with the head of the district coordination committee, the mayof Fidim municipality, representatives of political parties, chambers of commerce and industry and the Federation of Nepali Journalists had suggested a prohibition.
Except for emergency services, it is prohibited to operate from 5:30 am to 9:30 am. Chief District Officer Dhakal informed that the decision was taken on the basis of suggestions from all parties. The number of people infected with the corona virus is increasing in the district.
A panic has been created as the number has started increasing even during the limited tests. On Sunday, corona infection was confirmed in 17 more people on the same day.
Accordign to Narad Subedi, head of the health office in Panchthar, eight people have been confirmed infected in Fidim, three in Yangwarak, five in Phalelung and one in Hilihang.
