Kathmandu : Two people have died when a truck fell into the Marsyangdi River. The deceased have been identified as Jai Kandel, 37, and Meen Kandel, 35, of Galkot-8, Baglung, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.
The accident took place when a truck (Na 3 Kha 9973) heading towards Aabukhaireni of Tanahu from Muglin of Chitwan fell down about 100 meters from Aapchaur Ghumti in Aabukhaireni village Municipality-4.
Though the incident took place at night, the police was informed only today, said Yuvaraj Timilsena, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.
The deceased has been identified as Jay Kandel, truck driver and Meen Kandel, co-driver, said Hira Kandel, brother in law of the deceased. He said that he has been living in Nawalparasim of Chitwan even though his village home is Baglung.
According to him, the two brothers had gone to Pokhara after loading straw. Both the deceased are brothers of the same family.
Both the deceased have been kept at Damauli Hospital for autopsy.
