Kathmandu : The Non-Resident Nepali Association is to send 600 oxygen cylinders from Oman to Nepal by Sunday. The union is to send the cylinders at a time when the corona is dying due to lack of oxygen.
According to Vikal Jha, president of the Muscat-based Non-Resident Nepali Social Club (NRN), the process of purchasing the 600 cylinders has already started.
“Oxygen cylinders have been ordered. The company has already sent us the bill. We will pay the first installment on Wednesday,” he said. NRN is about to buy the cylinders from Muscat-based Al Hapsi Trading Company. He said that it would cost around Rs 7.5 million for a cylinder.
“NRNs in the Gulf region are working to raise the necessary funds. The NRN’s International Coordination Committee has decided to provide the insufficient amount,” he said. He said that the purchased cylinders will be handed over to the Nepali Embassy in Oman to be sent to Nepal.
“We will buy it and give it to the embassy. The embassy will complete the necessary process and send it to Nepal,” he said.
