Kathmandu : In the last few days, unclaimed bodies have been found in various parts of India. Such unidentified bodies have been found on the banks of the Ganga River in places like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India. It was common to find dead quadrupeds on the banks of the Ganga river. But the discovery of so many unclaimed bodies in the midst of the corona epidemic is a matter of concern.
For the last time, 71 unclaimed bodies have been found on the banks of the Ganga river in Bihar, India. Earlier, more than two dozen mutilated bodies were found on the banks of the Ganga river in the border of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh and Baliya Bihar.
The 71 bodies found at Mahadev Ghat last time have been buried in a ditch by the Buxar district administration after postmortem. Their DNA sample is preserved. According to local officials, it is not possible to estimate that the bodies were brought by the floods as it was not raining and the water level in the river was low.
Some have even speculated that they may have been thrown away because the cost of cremation was so high.
According to Buxar district SP Niraj Kumar Singh, the bodies were decomposed. The postmortem was done at the pier as the condition of the body was very bad.
Minister for Water Power Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of the Modi government has said that it is unfortunate to throw bodies in the Ganga river. Stating that the Modi government is committed to the purity and continuity of the Ganga river, he also asked the state government to seriously investigate the incident. (Source : Online Khabar)
