Kathmandu : CPN (UML) leader and Bagmati State Assembly member Pashupati Chaulagain has been laid to rest at Pashupati Aryaghat.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung, UML Bagmati Pradesh Organization Chairman Ananda Prasad Pokhrel, Party Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang, Bagmati Pradesh Sabha member Rachna Khadka and other leaders and activists were present at Pashupati Aryaghat to pay their last respects to Chaulagain.
Earlier in the day, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gurung paid his last respects to Chaulagain’s body by flying the national flag, while Chairman of the party’s Disciplinary Commission Amrit Kumar Bohara paid his last respects by flying the party’s flag.
Chaulagain died on Tuesday due to corona virus. Chaulagain, a member of the CPN (UML) Politburo, was elected as a member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly from Dolakha (B).
Leader Chaulagain was elected from Dolakha-1 in the 2056 BS election. Similarly, in the Constituent Assembly election of 2070 BS, MPs were elected from the proportional quota. Chaulagain, who has been active in politics since his student days, was a loyal and sincere leader.
Pokharel, Chairman of the UML Bagmati Pradesh Association, said that his demise and caused irreparable damage to Dolakha and the entire nation.
