Kathmandu : Eight people have been remanded in custody for allegedly selling oximeters, which are believed to be useful for those infected with the corona virus, at exorbitant prices.
Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli has ordered to send Shikar Shrestha, Khumraj Upadhyay, Pushkar Ghimire, Vishal Acharya, Jagdish Prasad Acharya, Santosh Bhandari and Suraj Thapa to jail.
Following Parajuli’s order, he has been sent to Sundhara Central Jail for trial. He was arrested during a joint monitoring by the administration and the police.
According to CDO Parajuli, the administration has become ruthless against black marketing during the epidemic. According to the same policy, they have been sent to jail for trial. He has warned other people not to take advantage of the epidemic and black market.
