Furniture industry operator arrested in Kanchanpur

Kathmandu : Operators of furniture industry have been arrested in Kanchanpur along with a large quantity of illegal timber.

The arrested is Ramesh Bhatt, 26, operator of Hunainath Furniture Industry in Bhimdatta Municipality-10, Jimuwa.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Amar Bahadur Thapa said that 340.41 cu ft of illegal timber including mango, toddy, spice and sesame was recovered from the industry on the basis of confidential information.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Thapa, the recovered timber was handed over to the District Sub-Divisional Forest Office for necessary action.

Similarly, police have recovered unclaimed timber from Belauri Municipality Ward No. 4 on Wednesday morning.

According to Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Thapa, 8.47 cu ft of timber was recovered. The timber was handed over to the Sub-Divisional Forest Office, Pachkadiya for necessary action, police said.
