Hotelier beats child, arrests 3 for playing in elevator

Kathmandu : Dhanusha police have arrested three persons, including businessman Amarnath Gupta, on charge of brutally beating a child who went to play in a hotel elevator.

Dhanusha police have arrested three persons, including businessman Gupta, on Tuesday evening after they came to know that they had beaten up a 13 year old boy who had gone to play in the elevator at Hotel Gayatri Kunj Guest House of Amarnath Gupta in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan Ward No 5.

A 13 year old boy living in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 5 has been beaten by two employees of hotel operator Amarnath Gupta while he was going to play in the elevator. When the locals saw the boy being locked in the elevator and beaten, they immediately informed the local Janaki police station.

The boy’s father Sanjay Thakur was also beaten by the employees on the instructions of hotel manager Amarnath Gupta. According to Dhanusha Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Basnet, Amarnath Gupta, manager of Gayatri Kunj Guest House, Ram Pukar Thakur, 33, and Subash Kumar Sah, 38, of Manara Siswa Municipality in Mahottari have been arrested.

A child injured in the beating is undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital, Janakpur.
