Kathmandu : Four people have been arrested for stealing five motorcycles from the from of Triyuga Cooperative Society in Saptakoshi Municipality-6 of Saptari district.
Police have arrested Masum Mian, 23, of Koshi Gaonpalika-8 of Sunsari, Akbar, 21, of the same place, Posta Raj Khatri, 35, of Kanchanrup Municipality-12 of Saptari and Ram Hari Shrestha, 22, of Belka Municipality-10 of Udayapur.
According to Madhav Prasad Kafle, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Saptari, the accused stole a motorcycle from in front of Triyuga Cooperative Society in Saptakoshi Municipality in Friday noon.
They were accompanied by Pulsar motorcycle (Province 105-004 P 0484), Bullet motorcycle (Province 102-041P 3418), Honda XR motorcycle (Ba 90 P 3274), TVS Apache (Province 203-013 P 2057) and a Yamaha motorcycle (Pradesh 105-004P 0484) at Bhaluwa Chowk in Bhitri Road of Hanumannagr Kankalini Municipality-1 Saptari district, was arrested by the police and other stolen motorcycles were also recovered.
Shrestha, who was arrested during the preliminary interrogation, said that he had stolen the motorcycle with the connivance of four people. After revealing the names and addresses of the other accused, the stolen motorcycles were recovered on different dates and the accused were arrested, said Pranau Kafle.
According to the District Police Office, Saptari, 118 absconding accused have been taken under control in the current fiscal year 2078/79 BS. A total of three years and two months imprisonment and fine of Rs 18,584 was recovered from them.
