Kathmandu : One person has been killed and two others injured when a truck fell into the Rapti River near Bhimfedi-1 Suparetar Barracks of Makwanpur under Tribhuvan Highway this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bhojraj Basnet, 28, of Sindhuli Lamptar-1, said Jayeshwar Rimal, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makwanpur. The injured have been identified as Rajan Banskota, 31, of Morang Sundarharaicha-8 and Saroj Acharya, 24, of the same place.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Chure Hill Hospital in Banskota while co-driver Acharya has been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, police said.
The Eicher truck (Province 1-02-001 Kha 8759) heading to Kathmandu carrying iron had fallen into the river uncontrollably in the morning.
