Five sumo driver under control

Kathmandu : The District Police Office, Makwanpur, has taken under control five public vehicles that were charging higher fares to cover up the festival.

According to Inspector Devendra Das of the District Police Offive, Makwanpur, the police have taken under control five Sumo driver, who were charging more than the prescribed fare from the passengers on the way to the destination from Hetauda on Ashoj 30 and 31.

According to Inspector Das, the sumo (Na 1 Ja 1752, Na 1 Ja 7440, Na 1 Ja 2088, Na 1 Ja 6403 and Na 1 Ja 5076) passing through Makwanpur has been taken under control.

According to the police, the sumo, who took the responsibility of transporting the passengers to different places, took more than double the fare fixed by the government. Currently, the fare from Hetauda to Kathmandu is Rs 500.

Police Inspector Prakash Pandey of the District Traffic Police Office, Makwanpur, said that the arrested Sumo will be fined or sent to the Transport Department as per the traffic rules.
