Two persons were fed excrement on the charge of witchcraft, one arrested

Kathmandu : In Mahottari, local women have accused a family member of witchcraft.

A 50 year old man and a 55 year old woman were beaten and fed excrement by a group of women at Agleshara in Aurhi Municipality Ward No. 9 of Mahottari on Thursday evening. Men and women who have been fed excrement are brother in law and sister in law.

After the incident, the police team from the Area Police Office, Ramgopalpur rescued the victims and admitted them to the local health post for treatment.

One of those involved in the incident has been arrested, said Mahottari Superintendent of Police Dinesh Acharya. He said that those involved in the incident would be arrested and immediate action would be taken on the basis of the victim’s complaint.

Acharya informed that further investigation is underway into the incident.

A few weeks ago, a woman was killed in Madai village of Mahottari village in the district on the charge of witchcraft and a woman was fed excrement.
