Kathmandu : Air fares for domestic flights have increased.
As the cost of aviation fuel (fuel surcharge) has increased, so has the air fare. The airline operators’ association on Wednesday issued a notice annoucing the new fare.
The fare for domestic flights has been increased from a minimum of Rs 45 to a maximum of Rs 440, the association said. Kathmandu-Dhangadhi air fare has increased by Rs 440 the most. The fuel charge on this route has gone up from Rs 3,800 to Rs 4,240 last time.
The fare on Doti-Safebagar flight has been reduced by Rs 45 less than elsewhere. Earlier, the fuel cost on this route was Rs 355 but now it has reached Rs 400.
Recently, the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products like petrol, diesel, kerosene and cooking LP gas as well as aviation fuel.
The new public fare rate was approved by the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority last Tuesday and the association made it public today.
