Student given mourning leave at the educational institution after four people died in Tipper accident

Kathmandu : The Patan Municipality of Baitadi has given mourning leave today.

The municipality has given mourning leave after four people, including three students, were killed in a tipper accident on Monday afternoon. Chief Administration Officer of Patan Municipality Rajendra Prasad Bhat informed that the students were given mourning leave at the educational institution as they died in the accident.

The municipality has issued a statement expressing deep grief over the death of the deceased and wishing speedy recovery to the injured. Three people died on the spot in a tipper accident on Monday afternoon and one died on the way to hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Gyanu Bista, 12, Lalit Awasthi, 17, Rajendra Pant, 14, and Janak Raj Pant, 45, of Patan Municipality-3. Rajendra died on the way to Dadeldhura Hospital while three others died on the spot, police said. Five others have been injured in the same accident.

The tipper (Ba 3 Kha 4879) heading towards Patan from Gujar met with an accident in the bush on Monday afternoon. The students, who were returning home after school holidays, had met with an accident when they were about to board the tipper. The tipper had fallen 300 meters from the road.
